Problems "maike"ing Balsa 1.0.pre4

I've downloaded the pre4 release of Balsa. I'm trying to install it on a
Debian 2.2 potato machine, with the latest (1.2?) Helix Gnome installed.

./configure failed looking for gnome-print, but didn't provide a fatal
error message.

When I try and make balsa I get

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [balsa] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/downloads/balsa-1.0.pre4/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/downloads/balsa-1.0.pre4'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

I assume I'm missing a package somewhere?
