Dear Andrew,

Thank you so very much for responding!  Everyone else I've asked tells 
me to abandon Balsa and use Mozilla Mail or Ximian Evolution.  But 
Balsa is much more to my liking.  
I shall send you the reportbug output and strace just as soon as I read 
the reportbug man page or find a HOWTO.  I've never used either 
reportbug or strace, but I'll learn how.
