Mmmm ... I'm sorry, I don't know how to debug in gdb a threaded  
programm. I get the exit from the 1st thread then nothing ... Can you  
tell me how to do that ?

When I do a File -> Quit, balsa doesnt leave but eats 80% of the CPU.  
So I tried a strace on the process involved but I got nothing in the  
trace:

Process 7188 attached - interrupt to quit
Process 7188 detached

As I have changed to linux 2.6.9 at about the same time, I've just  
retried with 2.6.8 and I still have the same problem.
