Possible license issue?

I notice the mail indexing parts of Beagle seem to use gmime, which is
maintained by Jeff Steadfast. 

Gmime is GPL licensed. Lucene is Apache licensed, which I have been told
is incompatible with GPL.

At first glance this seems to be a problem, which would either require a
change of license at one side or the other, or the replacement of Gmime
by another implementation with a compatible license. 

I hope I am wrong.
