It's been considered, but we're a little ways from being able to make
that happen.

The right thing to do is to split the UI and core of the dashboard so
that applications can use the dashboard engine in the most
context-appropriate way.

I don't want to take this step for some time, though.  We don't have a
useful engine right now, and we won't have one if we start generalizing
this too early.
