[Evolution] Re: encryption of MAPI

OK, if this obfuscation isn't for security, what's it for? The usual, no
doubt - just make it more difficult for people to compete...

ahhcommmeooonnn! you think 0xa5a5a5a5 is going to stop people????

btw have you searched for "MAPI protocol" on google.com? 8,000 entries.
5% are glossary / dictionary definitions. 0.5% are c.v.'s, 5% are books
and tech explanations of the published MAPI api, the rest are client and
server apps for the Win32 programming environment _except_ for HP
Openmail, and except for about 2-3 references to the evolution archive
references [hi guys].

so, the people that are being stopped from competing are, well, everyone
else who isn't in the Win32 programming environment. guess what,
boysngirls, that's us!!

NTLMSSP's job is to authenticate, sign and seal.

Bleurgh. Let's hope the final judgement from the Supreme Court (or the EU
case) prohibits MICROS~1 from obfuscating APIs, protocols etc...

agreed.
