Re: More Hackfests wanted

Hi!

In 2011 we ran GNOME.Asia in Bangalore. I'd say it was fairly successful
and there must be some long term contributors (yeah we know you!) still
living in that area. There should be also some new ones which attended
the conference and started GNOME user groups back then. You can see the
website (which is supposed to be archived.. though I had some issues
with some part of it I think) here: http://2011.gnome.asia/

I know for a fact that there was some heavy contributors back then ;-)
but I did mention that already :p

Hello,

I started similar discussion gnome-india mailing list and we had decided
to have a hackefest/meeting within India. However if hackers from other
countries are welcome.
If you are interested in this idea, please feel to edit the
page,https://live.gnome.org/GnomeIndia-2013
Depending on number of people, venue and date can be determined.

Thanks,

    Hey everyone,

we have plenty of room in the budget for Hackfests. We encourage you to
think about whether you or your team want to get together to advance
GNOME. In the past, we had i.e. the Developer Experience Hackfest or the
Docs Hackfest which the GNOME Foundation supported with a substantial
amount of money. Usually the Foundation covered travel costs. But we are
also happy to provide you with guidance or contacts if you think you
want to run a Hackfest but are not quite sure how. There should be many
    details here: https://live.gnome.org/Hackfests

So please make yourself heard if you have an idea of how to move GNOME
forward. Either here on foundation-list@, on board-list@ or you can of
    course mail me directly, too.

    Cheers,
      Tobi
