This is indeed a good place to ask questions like this, IRC also works.

Geary does not currently support adding inline images, only as 
attachments. So you'd need to paste that image into a file somehow 
(using EOG or GIMP or something similar) and then attach it. There is a 
bug already about this enhancement: 
<https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712995>. Patches 
implementing it would be welcome! :)
