[Gimp-user] Cloning

I want to replace "KISS" with something like "ABCD" . Is there a way to do it
without making it blatantly obvious that the image was manipulated?  Can I clone
the lights on the existing image and carefully move them to a new layer?   I do
not care if it looks average so long as it's not terrible.
