With gtk+ I had to put my function within an "extern 'C'" and then use a "__declspec (dllexport) widget_creation_func()" for libglade to find it. Now I'm using classes (due to converting to gtkmm) and my creation function is inside a class. My question is basically: How do I get libglademm to locate my creation function if it's inside a class? Should I try use glademm? Would that make any difference? If you need gnome support on the other hand you most probably will end up using libglademm or fixing glademm. libglade(mm) and glademm realize a different development (and code shipping) philosophy so switching is not easy. I have looked at the example, but STILL do not see how to use this technique to make custom widgets. I thought maybe I could derive a widget from drawing area (because initially all I really want to is draw things in different colors), but then I noticed you need a window to do the drawing. So then I derived a widget from window instead. For some reason though, my overloaded on_realize and on_expose_event methods aren't being called automatically. Anyone ever done this? First thinks first: I'm using Mandrake 10.1, with Glade-2 and an updated version of libglade. gcc is 3.4.1. I get the following errors when trying to compile a not very complex project. It complains about a ComboBox which has an, apparently, duplicated declaration, and about the FileChooser, which seems not to be called appropriately. The first error was produced by me (silly of me!), so it was corrected. The filechooserdialog problem was solved using fileselector instead. Hope it will not disappear, despite of being an obsolet component. I've seen an old message about modifying the old fileselector.cc template for the new filechooserdialog, but don't know to access that file. But I still don't know how to add more files to the Makefile. I've changed the "_SOURCES=" section, but, unfortunately, this doesn't makes that files to be compiled and added to the project. I do really need some advice here.
