Trying to fix the control-center 1.0 and GNOME 2.0 issue

In order to try and solve the current problem of Control-center 1.0
showing up in the Gnome2.0 menu under Applications I tried
adding the following line to the .desktop files for the capplets:
Categories=Application;Desktop Preference;Gnome1;

But it seems GNOME2 don't parse the capplet file looking for this info
when picking up the GNOME1.0 control-center menu entries.

In my effort to make this a solution that doesn't need any meaningful
amount of coding I am asking if it would be possible then to instead get
the GNOME2 menu to not look anymore in the directories where these menu
entries are stored. We could then instead get the gnome-1.0
control-center in the next release to make an extra set of desktop files
available in the /usr/share/applications directory where I expect the
.desktop file will get parsed.

George I guess this is you who maintains the menu generation code?
