Using shortcuts with internationalised keyboards

Dear All,
	When I tried to add shortcuts(accelerators?) with Greek characters
to the File/New menu, I found that the english equivelants of the keys
were printed. I could not make it to add a shortcut with Greek letters.

	Is this a problem with the Ctrl-letter or Alt-letter combinations?

	Could someone verify if this is indeed the case?

I am using XKB to write in greek.
