@Andre When I say that we are being asked to, I didn't mean that there was an email, just that it is what is present in the update for gnome-3-8 of network manager applet where some strings have been changed from unicode to ascii. The attached file is the difference between the po-fil before and after updating the translation and it shows 17 strings that have been changed from containing … to .... It seems to pertain e.g. to ../src/applet.c ../src/applet-device-bt.c ../src/applet-device-wimax.c ../src/mobile-helpers.c I also created a bug report for it: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=695967 @Philip Ah ok. I didn't realize that this had been worked on. My main reason for writing the email is that I was hoping to figure out if there was a guide line or maybe to put in a "me too" as far as asking for one. The point is that I of course will make these kind of string updates, but I would really prefer it if it was part of a coordinated effort so it didn't e.g. rely on individual developer or projects opinion on unicode usage, because the then I guess I can get to do these updates quite a lot ;) Regards Kenneth
