bug report in panel

I've downloaded and installed parts of gnome via the 0.99.tar.gz files
at a gnome mirror:

      588361 Dec 17 18:16 ORBit-0.3.90.tar.gz
      483447 Dec 17 18:36 control-center-0.99.tar.g

      255033 Dec 13 16:43 glib-1.1.7.tar.gz
     2198716 Dec 17 20:06 gnome-core-0.99.0.tar.gz
     1832679 Dec 17 18:32 gnome-libs-0.99.0.tar.gz
      639920 Dec 17 18:44 gnumeric-0.4.tar.gz
     2466956 Dec 13 17:01 gtk+-1.1.7.tar.gz
      607691 Dec 17 18:05 gtk-engines-0.1.tar.gz
      265511 Dec 17 19:23 gtop-0.99.0.tar.gz (didn't configure
because of libgtop)
      654423 Dec 17 17:57 imlib-1.8.2.tar.gz
      128799 Dec 17 17:46 libaudiofile-0.1.5.tar.gz
      133601 Dec 17 18:38 libghttp-0.99.tar.gz
      504543 Dec 17 19:38 libgtop-0.99.0.tar.gz (didn't compile)
      129772 Dec 17 18:39 libxml-0.99.tar.gz

the panel starts ok if I su to root, but when run it as a normal user,
it segfaults:

My apologies if this has been fixed in cvs. My setup is a Pentium
running RedHat 5.2. Also, should/can I use glib/gtk 1.1.9 with these
0.99.tar.gz files?

Also, are new 0.99 tarballs going to be made frequently?

Thanks,
Dave
