Compliation errors (Gnome-objc + automake probs)

hi,

I've tried rebuilding the snapshot RPMS from the redhat labs site, and I keep 
getting these errors:

With gnome-objc:

This scared the hell out of me, I thought it was something to do with memory 
problems, but it always happens in the same file at the same line. I am using 
gcc 2.8.1, binutils 2.9.1.0.3 on an updated RH5 system with an Intel Pentium 
P233-II. Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried installing the binary 
gnome-objc RPMS and the other objc programs (gulp + phaser_chess) compile, but 
both fail with a segmentation violation.

Also, with the all the SRPMS apart from mc, gtk, gnome-libs and gnome-core all 
fail at the installation stage complaining about a missing mkinstalldirs, but 
it appears to be looking outside the build tree. Running the 'autogen.sh' 
script twice seems to cure this. I am using automake 1.3 rpm from the support 
directory of the redhat labs site, but it also happens with automake 1.2f

Help me please
