gwp CVS 18 NOV 98

I compiled and linked gwp extracted from CVS  on 18 NOV 98 for the
following platforms:

sparc-sun-solaris2.5.1
sparc-sun-solaris2.6
i686-pc-linux-gnulibc1 (redhat 4.1)
i686-pc-linux-gnu (redhat 5.1)
alpha-dec-osf4.0b
hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20
powerpc-ibm-aix4.2.1.0
mips-sgi-irix6.4


- on hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20, to compile editor-plugins/prm/maincode.c I
  had to define -D_INCLUDE_POSIX_SOURCE to have O_RDONLY
  definition. The same is true for editor-plugins/spell/*

- on many platforms I had to add a -lz for the final link at the end
  of the command even though -lz was already present but -lxml needs
  -lz to appear afterwards for some linker (Linux, Solaris, IRIX)

- on mips-sgi-irix6.4, libtool does not work properly with
  --export-dynamic. I took it away.
