 Fuxake. Sorry about the repeat posting. The post I meant to reply to 
was about the possibility of having a "program loading..." status bar on 
the panel - I replied to the same post twice instead. Now I can't find 
the status bar post...

(Deep breath)

 I think the mini-commander applet does something like this for the 
programs it launches. Could this be extended to give a little bit of 
information on other processes - something like the Netscape status bar? 
The mini-commander is a great idea, it saves having to keep a spare term 
open, and the status bar would be very useful if it could also report on 
the status of programs which were launched by other methods (menus, 
launchers, etc). Personally I know when programs are starting because my 
hard disk sounds like a cement mixer full of gravel, but a status bar 
would be nice too :>
