glib 1.1.7 prob with glib-config

Hi all,
        I thought I'd celebrate the new year with upgrading gnome. I got
the latest SRPMs off of a mirror and started to build the binaries. I upgraded
glib, but when I try to build gtk+ it thinks I still have an older version
(1.1.3).
I can only find one copy of glib-config, isn't the rpm supposed to upgrade this?

I'm new to this, so please forgive my ignorance.
