libghttp

I am planning to write a Gnome applet that will query a number of websites
and I noticed that the ghttp-library, which is part of Gnome, hasn't been
changed for ages. The documentation is unfinished, however. Now I will
probably be able to find out what I need to know by checking the header
file, the source code and the source code of other apps (I believe the
SlashApp applet uses it, doesn't it?). But if by any chance the project has
been discontinued, I may be better off to find another suitable library.

I have played around a bit with the libwww-library from w3c. Is this is
better choice than ghttp, if I only want to access HTTP-servers?

Who can shed some light on this?

Thanks, Herman
