Delete in gnome-terminal

How do I get the Delete key to work in gnome-terminal?  At the moment it
sends backspace.  Also is it possible to configure the Home key to go to
the beginning of the current line and the End key to go to the end of
the current line?  Everything worked when I was using the gnome version
which came with redhat but since upgrading it I am unable to get it
working again.

Can anyone help?
