Setting X background in RedHat 7.1?

I have just installed RedHat 7.1 on my PC. I chose Gnome and Sawmill. I would
like to get rid of the Redhat logo in the X background. From the main menu I
click Programs / Settings / Desktop / Background. The Control Center appears.
How do I tell Gnome that I want a solid color background instead of a wallpaper
image?
