Of course, I know that ;-) (that's why I like it here!)

My problem is that it seems to me like those macro viruses are a somewhat inevitable side-effect when you build components and allow other programs to talk to those components...

So my main question comes down to this: What has to be done when you want to build a component model ala GNOME/Windoze/KDE, but avoid evil persons to use it to terrorize users... Protection that goes beyond "Do not open that mail 'cause it's evil". Protection that is build into the architecture (or at least into the components).
