Non-root access to VESA/SVGA

That's a good tip.

The only problem is that I can only access VESA as root.

Could you tell me what permissions to change so that a mortal can use it
or are there problems with that?

P.S. Check out Gnome2 for much much improved session management (of
course it also relies on apps implementing it properly too :-)
