How make GNOME not expect NFS entries to be in fstab and look there for them?

GNOME won't complete login process because I get a corrupted
message I must dismiss before it can finish....

I think it may be due to fact that my NFS mounts are NOT 
in fstab. (I just mount them myself outside of fstab.)

How make GNOME NOT expect to find NFS entries in fstab
so it won't freeze during login?
