[GnomeMeeting-devel-list] Start hidden issue, gnome cosmetic bug?

Hi!

There might be a "cosmetic" [low priority] bug in gnome. I guess it's
a gnome issue rather than a gnomemeeting one, but I can only reproduce
it with GM*, so I send it to the list for if some of you could try it
out.

  The symptoms are as follows:
SYMPTOMS:
	- I start gnomemeeting with the "start hidden" option enabled.
	- When it starts it shows the splash screen (which is enabled), and
also the gnomemeeting main window which hides almost immediately.
	- The think happens when one gives focus to gnomemeeting's main window
during the brief time it shows up on the desktop (and before it hides,
of course). If you do so, it will stay on the screen (although GM thinks
it is hidden, since when I click the icon in the Panel Notification Area
it doesn't disappear, and if I click it twice it will disappear).
	- Yet more, the window which stays in the desktop has no frame (or
borders), here is a screen-shot:
	http://www.terra.es/personal9/baldrick/gm/screenshot1.png
	- Finally this window stays all the time on top of the others.

In order to reproduce it, do as follows:
REPRODUCTION:
	- Window's focus behaviour: have windows focus under pointer
("enter-only" in sawfish), that is, placing the pointer over a window
gives it the focus.
	- In GM General Settings, set GM to "start hidden", and provably also
"show splash screen" enabled (which is how I have it set up, but I could
also reproduce it if disabled)
	- start GM.
	- Move the mouse around the screen so chances are that you will focus
GM main window during the brief period of time it shows up, and before
it hides.

Note: I have not tried with any other methods of focusing windows like
focus on click, for instance.

ADDITIONS (to the test case):

	- Once you've succeeded, let the window there and close GM using the
icon in the Panel Notification Area (right-click->quit). Start GM again,
this time normally. and without the need to do what's described above,
you'll get the window again (without frame).

RESULTS:
	- You should now have something similar to the screen shot provided in
the link above and the window will stay on top unless you click twice on
the GM icon in the panel notification area.

My system settings are:
Debian unstable with GnomeMeeting 0.97.20030425 (cvs) with latest
updates (updated Sat Apr 26 16:12:30 CEST 2003).

* I can only reproduce it with GM because is the only application that
can start hidden than I know and/or use.
