Isn't the in-kernel pwc driver GPL? In which case
Nemosoft can completely wash his hands of it, but the
driver can't just vanish. However, the binary
compressor module would be lost to us and the current
driver would slowly decay unless someone else stepped
up to maintain it.

Nemosoft's statement that his NDA has expired does
give me hope that maybe Philips will permit an
Open-Source version of the compressor module. That
might make things easier for *everyone*.
