Re: [GnomeMeeting-list] V4L configuration

Thanks...I know it's not GnomeMeeting that's at fault - the picture taken was from a webcam capture. I've searched high and low on how to change it but you mentioning the info below will help me be able to explain it and where to ask.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

It seems they are sending BGR instead of RGB.

Just contact the PWC driver author, or report a bug to Ubuntu. I don't
think (and I'm sure) it is not GnomeMeeting-related.

THe webcam I use is Logitech Quickcam Pro4000 - which I believe use the Philips chipset - isn't that in the kernal? I certinaly can't see any drivers...plug it in and go!

To see an example of the picture I am getting with my camera - http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/6171/capture1rc.jpg

The picture is perfect in Windows - so I know it is not the camera at fault. How do I tweak the driver? Reinstall it? I haven't the foggiest idea on how to do that.

I did think of using black and white but it's bleached out if i do that due to the existing colour problem as you can see on the above link.

Many thanks

I am running:

Ubuntu Breezy.
With Logitech Quickcam Pro4000

Works with V4L in GnomeMeeting however lately it have seemed to "shifted" in colourmap and the colour is now extremely distroted (I'm purple to be basically!) and playing with hue/saturation/brightness/etc does nothing to improve it.

How do I tweak the colormap of V4L input? I can provide pictures taken

from the camera to demostrate what I mean by funny colours.

Wouldn't it be related to the driver? I think you should contact the driver author (Luc Saillard iirc).
Our plugin didn't change since very long, so if colors suddenly became
distorted, then I conclude it is because of the driver (or of the
webcam).

My old Philips webcam is now working only in black-and-white, even if
I'm using it with the very old driver which was working before with the
same webcam.

If you can show me a picture, perhaps I can tell you where it comes
from.
