there is something between hand coding and using libglademm2:
Use glademm to generate code.
I have compiled several gtkmm apps on windows (e.g. midgard.berlios.de
is the most complex one) using glademm.
On the other hand I don't know of any obstacles to using libglademm2 on
Windows (doesn't Cedric Gustin already have a binary?)
