GtkEntryCompletion completion width

Hi,

I've previously filed #131916, a request for the GtkEntryCompletion
completion drop-down to have a configurable width -- specifically an
"expand to fit" mode where it will grow as much as possible to display
the contents without scrollbars/clipping.

Would this be considered for GTK+ 2.6?  I'm willing to at least have a
go at creating a patch to do this, assuming I can understand the
code. :)
