Change Gnome Button Text?

Hi all,

 For the gnome-stock buttons, is it possible to change the default text to 
some other desired text that we wnat? For example, from the libgnomeui API, 
we have this line predefined for the new button:

 #define GNOME_STOCK_PIXMAP_NEW    "New"

Now I want to change the button to show "Old" instead. How can I do this? 
Hacking the source files? Thanks.
