Now it works in the new libsigc++ release 2.2.11, provided you use the 
new macro SIGC_FUNCTORS_DEDUCE_RESULT_TYPE_WITH_DECLTYPE. See the 
documentation of that macro at

If you are eager to use it, you can get the source code from

This works if you replace mem_fun by sigc::mem_fun.
