You're right, it's a bit messy. I'll try to do this more properly.
In fact in my mind the pre versions are not obviously completely tested and 
stable and the final one completely stable and 'trustable'.
But since the changes are quite minor, there is no need to such a thing. If a 
bug is reported another version will correct it and that's all.
