It's somewhat unfortunate that the build scripts (and a couple of other
files) lack clear licensing information. I believe that they constitute
copyrightable work. As far as I'm aware, we don't document any sort of
"fallback" for files without explicit licensing terms like e.g. the
Linux kernel does. We'll eventually need to clarify licensing of those
files.

Since you're originally written the meson scripts and have done most
work on them, I'm wondering if you could submit a patch to add that
would add a SPDX tags to meson.build files? We prefer LGPL-2.1+, but I
guess anything more liberal would also work.

I also agree (though like Dan, the copyright on my contributions is
