Re: [orca-list] Orca Magnifier Problems

Hi Andrew:

Which keyboard layout are you using, and which exact keys stop working?
It sounds as though the structural navigation mode is kicking in, but
I'd need more specifics to be sure. In addition, if you can provide
some sort of repeatable test case, it would be great.

Thanks!

Will

Will,

Thanks for replying. I've noticed the problem with keys no longer
working in the following places:
      * firefox
      * gnome-terminal
      * The GNOME "Run Dialogue" (Alt-F2)
As for the keys affected- I think they have been different on
different occasions, but I'm not certain. I'd say about half of the
A-Z keys are affected, if it happens again, I'll try and note which
ones exactly.

Thanks,
Andrew

        Does this occur in any specific application and are the keys
        that stop consistently the same?

                I wanted to ask if there were workarounds to two
                issues I'm having using the magnifier in Orca.

                Configuration:
                       â       Screen Reader disabled
                       â Magnifier set to full screen and
                Negative enabled.

                Issues:
                       â       Occasionally (and I haven't been able
                to determine a use case that causes it) certain keys
                on my keyboard stop working. Switching to a virtual
                terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) or quitting orca resolves the
                issue.
                       â Sometimes the buttons on the orca
                application window disappear and I can't close orca
                cleanly- have to kill the process.

                Any help would be greatly appreciated.

                Thanks,
                Andrew
