Re: [orca-list] What distribution?

Hi, Jude,

It proved unnecessary, to have to fiddle with a kickstart file. Good thing
too since I don't have a floppy drive. Don't see those very much anymore,
you know.

If moonshine fedora is available for download any longer, it may be useful
to install that fedora and copy the kickstart file moonshine creates to a
floppy and then install the newer fedora version using the kickstart
moonshine created for you. You may not get into all that much trouble that
way.

Hi Alex,

If you are going to install Fedora using a kickstart file I recommend
downloading one from the Internet and modifying it to your personal
specifications. It would be too difficult to explain how to write one
from scratch nor would I recommend it since that would be a pretty
difficult task.

As far as putting it somewhere for installation purposes if you have
an external hard drive, thumb drive, etc you can put it there and then
when you pass the kickstart command to the installer you can point it
to your external drive for the kickstart installation.

Man, it's gonna be hard not to hit that tab key! It's built into
muscle memory by now to use it while navigating a dialog.

Someone mentioned something called a kickstarter file earlier in a
discussion about installing Fedora. Can someone provide a fast and
dirty step by step on how to do this? Perhaps, it's easier to do
than messing with poorly accessible dialogs. I figure once Orca is
talking, it's an easy matter to write a text file with Gedit or Nano
at that point. What do you put in it and where do you save it so it
can be used for installation purposes?

Thanks.
