Re: [orca-list] new user (for the most part) with a question

Hi Eric,

For Ubuntu 18.04 see:

https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/ubuntu-help/shell-keyboard-shortcuts.html.en

Some tips:

after starting Ubuntu 18.04 press Control+Alt+Escape to land on the Desktop.

Control+Alt+Tab takes you to the top bar on the upper right of the screen, with Arrow right to the System menu and Arrow Down to the several options for WiFi etc.

Succes.

I have downloaded, installed 2 different distros of linux and had little success with orca.

First, linux mint.  In this environment, little is read within the menues, e.g. press the super key (windows).  Also, alt f1 doesn't do much.

Second, ubuntu v18 is slightly better (stock install), with small issues.  as of old documentation as of the v14 and v16 docs (last success I had was v16, the super key braught up the unity dash. type in web browser and a match would come up; this does indeed happen.  The issue is that alt f10 and alt f1 don't do much; not totally sure of the alt f10 though.

Any help, links and documentation and or better distros I might run sure would help.  I desire a form of linux that has codex for media, mp3, cd/dvd burning etc.

Thanks

Eric
