Further investigation indicates that the Dates for the HTML table
header are concatenated at the end of the actual schedule date section
(mis alignment error), and also the Dates scale is not the same as the
what is displayed in Planner.



If you require the resulting HTML file please let me know.

What's the best way to implement a lead time on a task?

If I have a task that will take 3 days, dependent on a predecessor 
completing, but with a 15-day delay, should I:

a) add an intervening dummy task of 15 days duration

b) make the task 3 days work but 18 days duration

or what?

I have just updated my server to Debian4.0
I have accepted the default version of Planner (0.14.2)
On attempting to export to the database an update, another name entered into 
project #1, Labour,  the following error message is displayed.


ERROR:  insert or update on table "calendar" violates foreign key 
constraint "calendar_proj_id_fkey"
DETAIL:  Key (proj_id)=(1) is not present in table "project".
CONTEXT:  SQL statement "UPDATE ONLY "public"."calendar" SET "day_sun" = 
DEFAULT WHERE "day_sun" = $1"
SQL statement "DELETE FROM ONLY "public"."daytype" WHERE "proj_id" = $1"

The database is as raised by planner (Not modified in any way)
As can be seen from the dump of the relevant tables, the proj_id is definitely 
present

Is this a new bug, or has it been rectified

The older version, I cannot remember which, that came with Debian3.0 ran 
without any such problems.

It will sure make a difference if someone can help on this matter!

Further to my previous submission of 25/5/07 I have reloaded the previous 
version of Postgres that I was using 7.4.7.  Yes the latest version of 
Planner 0.14.2 works without any problems with this version of the database.

The problem still remains however that Planner does not work with the latest 
versions of Postgres.  

Trust that other users of the Planner/Postgres combination are forewarned.

Hello,

I am fairly new to using Planner and have a question on whether I can defin=
e a default zoom level through some configuration file. I would like to set=
 the default level so that when I launch Planner, it will display a Gantt c=
hart with the major timescale set to months and the minor scale to weeks. C=
all me lazy, but I'd like to not have to zoom in or out each time I pull up=
 a schedule. Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for implementing planner. I have a small question, that I
couldn't find answered in the mailing lists or anywhere else: 

Is it possible to change the colors in the Gantt chart? The charts look
very tasteful, but it is very hard to see the difference between
completed and uncompleted tasks, especially for smaller tasks.

No, its not currently possible to change the colors...
I think the best solution to this would be to add %complete to the
visible columns so you don't need to rely on the gantt to determine the
task status.

When one tries to export a plan and request that the results are
displayed in the browser (in this case FireFox), Planner crashes.



The exported plan does get written to disk but it is incomplete - the
dates are missing in the header section of the Gnatt Chart in the HTML
file. If one de-selects the  "show in browser" option, the program DOES
NOT crash, but the HTML is still corrupted.



Are there any fixes, as this feature use to work in pre-0.14.1 releases
on Windows XP?

Further investigation indicates that the Dates for the HTML table
header are concatenated at the end of the actual schedule date section
(mis alignment error), and also the Dates scale is not the same as the
what is displayed in Planner.



If you require the resulting HTML file please let me know.

What's the best way to implement a lead time on a task?

If I have a task that will take 3 days, dependent on a predecessor 
completing, but with a 15-day delay, should I:

a) add an intervening dummy task of 15 days duration

b) make the task 3 days work but 18 days duration

or what?

I have just updated my server to Debian4.0
I have accepted the default version of Planner (0.14.2)
On attempting to export to the database an update, another name entered into 
project #1, Labour,  the following error message is displayed.


ERROR:  insert or update on table "calendar" violates foreign key 
constraint "calendar_proj_id_fkey"
DETAIL:  Key (proj_id)=(1) is not present in table "project".
CONTEXT:  SQL statement "UPDATE ONLY "public"."calendar" SET "day_sun" = 
DEFAULT WHERE "day_sun" = $1"
SQL statement "DELETE FROM ONLY "public"."daytype" WHERE "proj_id" = $1"

The database is as raised by planner (Not modified in any way)
As can be seen from the dump of the relevant tables, the proj_id is definitely 
present

Is this a new bug, or has it been rectified

The older version, I cannot remember which, that came with Debian3.0 ran 
without any such problems.

It will sure make a difference if someone can help on this matter!

Further to my previous submission of 25/5/07 I have reloaded the previous 
version of Postgres that I was using 7.4.7.  Yes the latest version of 
Planner 0.14.2 works without any problems with this version of the database.

The problem still remains however that Planner does not work with the latest 
versions of Postgres.  

Trust that other users of the Planner/Postgres combination are forewarned.
