Do you need some other informations?

yes, do you have python and python-devel installed on that box ?
On my 7.2 box I see
  checking for python... /usr/bin/python
  Found Python version 1.5

Maybe you miss python-devel and I didn't checked lately that the RPM
built cleanly if it's not present.
I just checked and the rpm rebuilt fine on my 7.2 box (with python and
python-devel).

Ok: you advice me to use the prepackage d i386 rpm, but I wanted to tell you aboutthis error ( on the faq
page of the xmlsoft site, you advice people to use rpm --rebuild ......).

  Okay,
I suggest this because in most cases there is less problem doing so
than trying to install binary RPMs compiled on a different distribution.
