I think I warned about this in my mail a few weeks back. "I'm sad to report
that there may be some changes in the translatable strings late, although we
are trying to avoid that."

People are reporting strings that need to be marked for translation in the
Nautilus list every day. Our choice is to leave them untranslated or have
the "mayhem" you mention.

I'd be happy to hear suggestions about a better policy.
