xmltools and .desktop / .directory files

Hi

Could you please confirm me that I got this right ?
No need to translate *.desktop/*.directory files from packages which use
xml-i18n-tools,
and no merge too after translating x.po (desktop files will be generated
at compile time)

Is there anything else to translate besides xx.po ? (except docs :)
