*sigh* Like nobody saw that comment coming.

It is a bit of a cheap shot, though. Framemaker documents include a lot
of information that cannot be captured with Docbook syntax. Maybe one
day we will be in a position to have good FO processing tools so that
really professional-quality layout can be done with Docbook and XSL
documents, but that day is not here yet. Ditto for OpenOffice.org
format.

On the topic at hand, there are arguments both ways for keeping it in
CVS. But the suggestion of compressing them sounds immediately
beneficial.
