If we are listing the translations in the release notes, it might
be nice to include a mention of how many people speak (or read?)
each language?

I shall start the ball rolling. According to the 2001 UK census,
there are about (well, just over) half a million Welsh-speakers 
in Wales itself (those elsewhere were not counted): 575,640.

I suspect this will pale by comparison with some of the others.
