Hello,

The xdg-user-dirs use Translation Project (as you know already), and this platform notifies automatically the project's maintainer about new translations. However, it depends on the maintainer to (manually or via some script) push the new translations to the source code.

Since this project is from freedesktop.org, how about filing a bug report against xdg-user-dirs to request them to push the translations?
