Ah, that reminds me of a feature in the 'eye candy' department that would
be nice to have. Years ago there was a shareware utility on OS/2 called
NPSWPS that gave me simulated shadows for all windows on the desktop. (as
well as animated opening and closing of windows but that sounds more
difficult).

If we can have anti-aliased fonts now with hardware alpha rendering and
whatnot, surely this feature shouldn't be too hard to add? If a window
would also cast a shadow on other windows below it, it would amplify the
Z-order idea- something my father, admittedly a lost cause when it comes
to using computers at all, didn't grasp when confronted by it for the
first time.
