Actualy, if you do the same in XP, it works a little bit different then the
old windows way of doing things. Now when you have high color enabled, it
renders & blends the text with the background, like nautilus does.

However, since they prolly had this problem to, they put a 'shadow' under
the text. Ie, the label is first drawn in black, and then @
positiion -1x -1y in white. (giving a subtle shadow effect). Using black &
white makes sure that the contrast is always good, on bright and dark
backgrounds.
