Uhm, if you are going to base the decision based on people's
preferences, I'd like to get out of my lurking state and vote for
left-aligned labels.  :-)

Right-aligned just looks ugly to me, as it makes the dialog look all
jagged on the left side.  And I don't think left-aligned makes it harder
to read at all -- if the sizes of the labels are wildly different, then
you probably want to rename the labels anyways.
