[Usability] App/applet name changes

It seems that many of the apps/applets in the Gnome core
are undergoing a name change

Is there an understanding that the app/applet maintainers 
will reflect this change within the app/applet before the
GUI string freeze date ?  For example, last I saw, the
Tasklist was renamed Window List but it still refers
to itself as Tasklist throughout its properties dialog.

It would be a usability issue if users referred to apps 
by one name, but the apps knew themselves by a different 
name.  Which name would the online help use ?
