This entire discussion is on crack:

	1) workspaces one of the most important features of Unix desktops.
any desktop without workspaces is pointless. even my dad -
quite a computer idiot - frequently asked for multiple
workspaces and finally asked me to implement this for his
windows desktop once he saw my virtual workspaces....

	2) the window list by itself is a great misfeature already:
too full too early. now asking for putting really all windows
into it right from the start would render this list completely
useless: in most cases it's already far too small to hold the
	   windows of one workspace

	3) well, if you want to give users quick access to all windows
without blowing the task list there are simple and efficient
	   solutions:

		a) pagers showing shapes for the windows on the other
		   desktops
		b) a window list/menu popping up if you click the desktop/
a certain button (checkout OS/2 or IceWM (without gnome
session management) to get an impression)

ciao,
mathias
