I agree. That hierarchy should be more along the lines of gnome:// or
desktop:// with the entire virtual hierarchy underneath as it is for
file:// and the file system. Actually, I think users shouldn't have to
deal with blah:// at all but that is another discussion.

You said it yourself. Nautilus isn't a web browser, it is "kinda like" a
web browser. I think the Nautilus devs have realized it might have been
a mistake to try to make it one. At least I hope so.
