[Usability]Radical "desktop" ideas?

I was curious what radical "desktop" ideas are floating around (or
hibernating in the back of someones head).

I'm sure many of you think there is room for improvement in the current
working environment. And seeing as how Gnome has a ways to go before it
reaches nirvana, I'm sure that many of you have ideas on which direction
it should be taking.

I have an idea, not necessarily for Gnome but more general, which I will
leave a short article on my website to explain:

I would love you hear your input and any ideas you may have.
